Setting your season expectations. One of the trickier elements of being a good volleyball coach is establishing the expectations for your team at the start of a new season. It’s something we all must do, though. Maybe even more in a developmental situation, whether that be from a player or a program perspective.
· Hold one another accountable to program and team policies and expectations Playing Time Expectations All players will have equal opportunities to train and play during practice sessions. Playing time is earned and is a privilege. Clovis North Girls Volleyball does NOT guarantee equal playing time during matches or tournaments. Coaches will make playing time decisions based on what they believe will bring success to the team.
Player Expectations. 1.Be a team player. Always show respect for your teammates and coaches. 2.Be coachable and accept feedback from the coaches. 3.Try to always have a positive attitude. 4.Understand playing time will not be equal and is earned by hard work, performance, and attitude. 5.Work hard at every practice.
Time will be spent on hands and feet. Techniques will be taught for maximum efficiency and accuracy. Setters will be taught to square to position 4 on every set to help with deception at high levels. Right back defense with tip getting skills will be practiced.
Each player needs to expect their teammates to act in the best interest of the team and to be willing to stand up and fight for the team when necessary. Through their hard work, dedication and commitment to their team, players should set high expectations on themselves and their teammates and EXPECT SUCCESS!!!
All athletes are expected to be DRESSED (including having their shoes, ankle braces, and knee pads on) 15 MINUTES prior to the beginning of practice. Nets are to be set up before the schedule start time of practice. Players need to BEGIN warming up at the time practice is scheduled.
